Coastal Living – A beach side cottage in South Africa

There is nothing that screams coastal living more than white washed walls. There is nothing more beautiful than a beach house with white washed walls. This beach house retreat in South Africa perfectly exemplifies coastal living .  I came across it on one of my favorite blogs Chic Coastal Living and had to share it with you.

coatal living beach house terraceThis is the kind of place that makes me wish for a holiday . The neutral pallette through out the cottage gives it a comfortable yet elegant look. It invites you in and asks you to leave the pressures of the world outside.  You can lay out in the terrace with its beautiful sea view with your feet up on the coffee table. Or have your meals out side with a cool breeze ruffling your hair. …

The interiors are just as perfect. With stylish white washed oak floors and gray tones and a wonderful sense of space. Shades of green and blue add a sense of the ocean into the home. Raw wood furniture adds a rustic touch to the decor but the house is anything but rustic , take a look at the image of the kitchen and toilet.

  1. The exterior architecture reminds of adobe houses, though the color is different.

  2. I love the look and feel of coastal design. It comes across as clean and also comfortable. The rooms shown above are great examples and provide a neat take on the theme because the splash of bright blue or red that often shows up is missing. All the colors are subtle, very relaxing. I’ll be sure to check out your Pinterest account.

  3. I love the coastal living design in general because soft and worn qualities. This a place that be fun to live in. :-)

  4. I would love to have a patio like the one featured above. It reminds me of southwest decor in the United States.

  5. Guess where I spent the last 50 years ? ….simply the best
